The neighboring town of Fraser hosts the High Country Stampede Rodeo each year on Saturday nights from early July to mid-August. Just a ten minute drive from Winter Park, you can experience themed nights, incredible competitive rodeo events, and all sorts of family-friendly activities.
Watch as Winter Park rodeo enthusiasts partake in events like barrel racing, roping, calf scrambles, bronc riding, mutton busting, pole bending, steer wrestling, and more. There’s even a junior rodeo with these events plus goat tying! A community dance is held during one of the weekends from 9:00pm until midnight, as well.
About an hour west of Winter Park in the town of Kremmling, the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo is held annually during the first and second week of August. During this exciting event, you can enjoy typical rodeo events, such as barrel racing, mini bronc and wild pony races, ranch bronc riding, and more, as well as a junior rodeo, 4-H showings of various livestock and animals, a 5K run, a community dance, livestock sales, games for kids, horse races, horseshoe tournaments, and a variety of fairground type competitions and games, such as pie and salsa contests and archery competitions.
