If you are ready for a summer vacation getaway like no other, book a trip to Winter Park. Colorado has never looked so beautiful than how it does here in Winter Park. Our destination is known to be a winter sports playground along with a summer haven. Take a look at what you can plan for when coming to Winter Park this summer with your family:
Hit the Hiking Trails
Winter Park is located along the Fraser Valley providing the winter with steep slopes to navigate by skis. During the summer season the snow has melted away leaving behind sprawling hiking trails that travel all over the valley. Visitors will find a variety of hiking trails and difficulty levels making sure your family has one perfect for them to explore. Easy trails that are perfect for everyone in the family include Fraser River Trail – South, Creekside/Flume Loop, and Blue Sky/Little Vasquez Loop.
These trails can be completed in a relatively short amount of time and require little preparation. More rigorous trails are perfect for experienced hikers who are fitted for the trail. Yankee Doodle or Columbine Lake for intermediate trails or Second Creek/Broome Hut for a moderate trail with plenty of elevation gain. Some trails may be dog-friendly too so make sure to look up details before bringing your friendly canine companion along for the hike.
