Best Quick, Local Eats in Winter Park, Colorado

If you’re headed to Winter Park, whether it’s to beat the heat of summer or relish the slopes in winter, then you should treat it as the mountain getaway you deserve! That said, eating at the same place you always do kind of breaks the magic of the retreat, doesn’t it? Make the trip special by trying out some local restaurants! If you don’t want to take too much time away from hiking or skiing, then try out some of these best local eats in Winter Park:

Coffee and Tea Market

If you’re staying up at the ski resort, it’s good to find out quickly which places are worth your money. You need a discerning eye to pick up the places that are there to provide a quality experience—Coffee and Tea Market is certainly one of them. It’s more than just a watering hole—they serve sandwiches and sweets as well. It isn’t the place you go to really fill up, but with coffee, tea, alcoholic drinks, and a fine selection of carb-y foods, it’s an ideal spot to fuel up for the day or refuel after a morning on the slopes. Plus, it’s pretty cheap for resort food! Find it at the base of the resort.

Rudi’s Deli

It can be hard to decide who really has the best sandwiches in town, but if anyone in Winter Park deserves to boast it on their sign, it is Rudi’s. Located on the east side of Winter Park’s Main Street, they’re a lunch-time staple for locals as well as tourists. You can get a great sandwich here for under $10, making it an attractive alternative to much of the food at the resort. Rudi’s features a wide selection of sandwiches and sides, including gluten-free and vegan options—all delicious! It’s hard to go wrong here!

Mountain Grind Coffee and Bistro

Another sandwich place on Main Street—this one’s on the west side—Mountain Grind takes their sandwiches as seriously as their coffee. Like Rudi’s, they feature sandwiches and soup, plus salads, and happily offer vegan and gluten-free options. Mountain Grind also does breakfast and take-out. The average meal costs about $12, and they never disappoint—fresh ingredients and delightful service make it a great choice in Winter Park.
