Relax and Enjoy Winter Park Memorial Day
The last year or so has shown us that we don’t know all the answers, but some of life’s easier questions can be answered during your stay in our Winter Park Escapes holiday homes. For example, is it absolutely necessary to spend all your money on eating out for every meal? Our fully equipped kitchens that are the heart of the home tell you that the answer you are seeking is no, as do the grills on our decks and patios! No Winter Park Memorial Day would be complete without the taste of your favorite meats and vegetables grilled to perfection, and only the cruelest of people would expect you to miss out on the treat!
Another question you may be asking is, “Will the dining room table fit my entire family?” Well, the outlook is definitely good in this matter, as our dining rooms are designed for family meals and family games, enjoying a cup of coffee, and sharing conversation. If you have a larger family, just be sure to rent one of our larger properties! Our homes are designed to be an integral part of the vacation experience and offer the luxury amenities that are important to our guests, such as high-speed internet, state-of-the-art televisions, and high-end appliances that help bring back the joy of cooking! Binge-watch your favorite Netflix series on smart TVs hanging over the fireplaces of spacious living areas.
Hang out on the deck while dad chars the meat on the grill, listening to the music playing on whole-house systems, or simply enjoying the sounds that accompany your standard Memorial Day gathering. The hum of a lawnmower off in the distance, the happy laughter of children playing tag in the yards of nearby homes, the sizzling of hotdogs on the grill, and the murmurs of teens playing their favorite video games—our all-American places to stay in Winter Park, CO for Memorial Day are designed to give you an all-American holiday experience!
At the end of the day when you collapse into bed, feeling slightly tired, silky soft linens and premium mattresses will lull you into a sleep so deep and dreamless, you will awaken the next morning feeling rested and recharged as you haven’t in years!
Colorado Adventures
As the snow melts away and the sun begins to shine, the beautiful town of Winter Park, Colorado comes alive during the Memorial Day weekend. Known for its breathtaking scenery and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, visitors to Winter Park can expect an unforgettable experience. Here are some things to do and see in Winter Park, Colorado during Memorial Day.
One of the most popular attractions in Winter Park is Winter Park Resort. The resort offers a variety of outdoor activities such as mountain biking, ziplining, and hiking. Visitors can take a scenic gondola ride to the top of the mountain and enjoy the stunning views. The resort also hosts various events during Memorial Day weekend, including live music and a beer festival.
For those who love to fish, this Colorado gem has plenty of opportunities to cast a line. The Fraser River is known for its excellent fishing, and visitors can catch a variety of trout species. Fishing tours are available, and the town has several fly shops where visitors can purchase equipment and supplies. For a more unique outdoor experience, you can take a hot air balloon ride over the mountains of Winter Park. The balloon ride offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, and visitors can spot wildlife such as elk and deer from above.
If you’re not after such outdoorsy experiences and are looking for a more relaxing activity, head to the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort and Spa. The resort features over 20 mineral pools that range in temperature from 95 to 112 degrees Fahrenheit. You can head to this establishment about 35 miles away from Winter Park to soak in the healing waters and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Winter Park can offer you fun and adventures you won’t find anywhere else in the world. Hiking through the Rockies may sound daunting, but not all trails go straight up, and many are short enough that even a toddler can manage them! Weather can change quickly in the late spring, so be sure to dress in layers and carry a rain jacket to keep you dry on longer hikes. For those who can only find the joy in walking when carrying a bag of clubs behind them, Memorial Day Weekend is when the courses open again after being covered in snow for the first few months of the year. Practice your chip shots, lower your handicap, and don’t forget the tradition of buying drinks for everyone on the 19th hole when you make a hole-in-one at any of our local courses! Grand Elk, Grand Lake Golf Course, and Pole Creek Golf Club are just a few of our local favorites! Make this trip out west a true Western experience with a horseback ride through the countryside; Snow Mountain Stables in nearby Granby is one of our favorite places for horseback tours, but Winter Park Trail Rides in Parshall comes in a very close second!
In addition to outdoor activities, Winter Park has a vibrant arts and culture scene. The town has several art galleries, including the Cooper Creek Square Artisan Market, which features the work of local artists. The town also hosts several music and theater performances throughout the year. Finally, no trip to Winter Park is complete without trying the local cuisine. The town has a variety of restaurants that offer everything from casual dining to fine dining. Visitors can enjoy local favorites such as Lunch Rock Restaurant & High Craft Bar, Durbar – Nepalese & Indian Bistro, and Fontenot’s Seafood & Grill, to name but a few.
