Blues from the Top
The summer season is also best the time of year to host a musical festival. The weather is inviting and you can enjoy several days of live musical performances. Winter Park will be turning up the heat this year with the upcoming Blues from the Top Musical Festival this June. This is an annual music festival that is entering its 22nd year of festivities. As the name suggests, you can expect a variety of blues artists to be taking the stage.
The fun kicks off on Friday June 28th, when Big Head Todd & The Monsters along with Eddie 9V will start the festival strong. Saturday June 29th features a bigger lineup that will include Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Charlie Musselwhite, Ally Venable Band, GA-20, and Taj Farrant. The festival comes to a strong close on Sunday June 30th with Eric Gales, Canned Heat, Tommy Castro & the Painkillers featuring Deanna Bogart, and Toronzo Cannon. Many of these artists will be familiar to blues fans from all over the country. Even if you are not familiar with them you can enjoy live music that is taken to another level.
Tickets are on sale now for Blues From The Top with a variety of tickets available including general admission and VIP. The event will take place at the Rendezvous Event Center with gates opening on Friday at 4:30 PM and 10:00 AM for Saturday and Sunday. A variety of food and drink vendors will be on hand for delicious food and adult beverages to enjoy with your music; the event is a cash-free event, so make sure to bring your credit card to purchase items while here. The Blues From The Top is an all-ages event, so feel free to bring the whole family to enjoy this incredible event together!
Blues After Dark
The fun does not stop once the Blues from the Top festival closes each night here in Winter Park. The whole city likes to get in on the fun with Blues After Dark Shows taking place all over the city. You can kick start the festival with a free show at the Rendezvous Event Center on Thursday, June 27th with Dragondeer playing from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friday, June 28th features even more shows before and after the festival hours take place. The Noble Buck will be hosting live blues music from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Square at Cooper Creek will feature a free show from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Music at Devil’s Craft will host the Cass Clayton Band who are on stage from 9:00 PM to midnight for late night fun. The live music fun continues into Saturday, June 29th, where another free show takes place at The Square at Cooper Creek. Emanuel Casablanca will be on stage at 8:30 PM over at Devil’s Craft. The Winter Park Pub will also feature live music with additional details to be provided at the door. These shows are a great way to enjoy a full weekend of fun and live music only in Winter Park!
The BigWonderful Beer Fest
If you are in the mood for some delicious craft beer, you need to make your way to the BigWonderful Beer Fest this year in Winter Park. This annual event is hosted at Winter Park Resort, where the slopes are closed for the season, but the warm weather lets you enjoy a big beer festival in the outdoors. This is not your typical beer event, as it also features live bluegrass performances and a bazaar to shop through. Adults will be able to sample unlimited beer tastings from Colorado breweries while browsing through the extensive craft market. The bluegrass lineup features artists on two different stages. The Village Gazebo Stage includes performances from Bill McKay along with others. The Lawn Stage is perfect to lay out on as you enjoy performances from Tonewood and Deborah Solo Trio.
