Snowmobiling provides all of the scenic loveliness of skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing without any of the physical strain, allowing you to soak up stunning views of sights like the Continental Divide and Arapaho National Forest without wearing yourself out. Read on below and find out more about this popular seasonal activity in Winter Park!

Starting Out Your Adventure the Right Way

We are always eager to start on the fun adventures, and as thrilling as snowmobiling may be, it is important to consider the entire picture. For example, will you be dressed warm enough? Did you remember your goggles? And perhaps most importantly, did you begin your day with a hearty breakfast? Warm and moisture resistant clothing are vital to a great day of snowy adventures, and although many snowmobile companies do provide the required helmet and snow boots, waterproof snow clothes are available for an extra rental fee, and goggles and waterproof gloves have to be purchased outright. If you haven’t brought any of the above-listed items from home and you just want to purchase everything you need, a visit to Christy Sports, 78930 US-40, will allow you to be fully prepared as soon as you walk in the door of the rental place. But wait, what about breakfast?

A Full Tank Is Required!

Your snowmobile isn’t the only thing that needs fuel; you’ll also need fuel for your body, and although your fully equipped kitchen in your Winter Park Escapes cozy rental does put the fun back into meal making, in your rush to get to the “good stuff,” chances are you forgot to eat! Fortunately for you, Wake n’ Bacon, located at 78415 US-40 #200e, offers all the delicious morning fuel your snowmobile adventure will require! Offering fluffy omelets, table bacon appetizers to share with your riding partners, and a bakery filled with all the sweet treats you normally avoid, this sweet spot is a popular one, and you won’t be too disappointed that you skipped the breakfast making this morning! Wake n’ Bacon also offers a full selection of brunch beverages, including Bloody Marys, but those are drinks you might want to avoid on a day when you are going to be handling the horsepower of a snowmobile!

Feel the Rush of Snowmobiling in Winter Park

Winter Park’s snowmobiling terrain is predominantly located in the Arapaho National Forest, where snowmobiling trails take riders above the tree line for panoramic views of the Continental Divide and Colorado’s high country.

Grand Adventures, located at 78311 US Highway 40 Suite 100, offers Winter Park snowmobile tours and rentals across the street from Winter Park Resort; it’s very convenient to get to from our condos in the Winter Park Resort complex, such as this beautiful luxury condo! The company’s tours take you and your guests to locations like Fraser Valley and the Continental Divide on one and two hour tours, while unguided snowmobile rentals are available in two- and four-hour allotments.

Colorado Adventure Park, located at 566 Country Road 721 in nearby Fraser, is another Winter Park, Colorado snowmobiling destination that is designed just for kids. Snowscoots, as the park calls them, are available for kids who are under five feet tall and weigh ninety pounds or less. Kids ages six and older can ride the park’s Polaris 120s along a groomed meadow track between 10:00am and 6:00pm. Tickets are not available online, but can be added to your tubing ticket price in-person at the park.

Après Snowmobile, Anyone?

Ok, it’s a bit of a mouthful and it sounds kind of silly, but after a long day of snowmobiling, you are destined to be wet, cold, and hungry, even if properly garbed and after starting the day with a great breakfast! Deno’s Mountain Bistro, 78911 US-40, has the meals and the warmth needed to get you back to 100% and also serves a mean cocktail menu that will be much appreciated after your adventures!
