Secluded House Rentals in the Colorado Mountains
Picture this: Standing on the front stoop of a cabin in the woods, soaking up the morning sun as you sip your cup of coffee; snuggling up on the sofa next to the fireplace under a warm blanket with only the sounds of the wind whispering through the pine trees to keep you company; setting off for a hike from the privacy of your own house when the only other soul you pass is the tiny squirrels and occasional deer. This quiet serenity is exactly what you’ll find at our house rentals in the Colorado mountains. Not only that, but you’ll appreciate the tasteful decor and modern conveniences you’ll find throughout your vacation rental. All kitchens come fully equipped and ready for as much (or as little) cooking as you’d like to tackle. Bedrooms are outfitted with top quality mattresses and five-star linens to ensure a good night’s sleep. But mostly you’ll appreciate the common gathering spaces that beckon you to sit and relax and take in the intoxicating mountain range that surrounds you.
Adventure with People or Without
When your destination is basically a wilderness area, you can rest assured that our secluded Winter Park properties have everything you need: adventure. But you’ll be relieved to know that everything your heart desires is not far away from your quiet vacation rental. Winter Park has a plethora of opportunities available in their small community, so no matter what time of year you visit, you needn’t travel far to get to the action. In the winter months, spend some time at the Winter Park Resort and take advantage of their diverse 3,000 acres of playground. If downhill skiing isn’t your jam, strap on some snowshoes or cross-country skis and enjoy the fresh air. Another favorite winter pastime is finding a quaint coffee shop in town and sipping hot cocoa. In the summer months, Winter Park is bustling with hiking, mountain biking, rafting and boating adventures, as well summer gondola rides to take in the views. No matter what time of year you visit, our house rentals in Colorado mountains will be the perfect home base for endless adventures.
Visit Some of Our Favorite Local Destinations
The opportunities for adventure within Winter Park are endless, but just in case you’re looking for a few insider tips, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve accumulated a list of some of our favorite destinations so that you can do less internet exploring and more nature exploring.
Hideaway Park is a Winter Park favorite for locals and tourists alike. Grab some goodies from a favorite eatery (we can’t recommend the coffee and cinnamon rolls from Carver’s enough) to enjoy at the playground, covered patio areas, and wide-open spaces. It’s a beautiful spot to soak in the mountain views and fresh alpine air. Once you’ve nailed down travel dates, be sure to check out playwinterpark.com for the city event schedule, as you might be fortunate enough to take in one of the local festivals they hold at Hideaway Park.
Vasquez Peak Wilderness Area is a 12,300-acre wilderness area located in the Arapaho National Forest. With a summit elevation of 11,060 feet, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the mountains and because it’s on the continental divide, there will be snow. With over 17 miles of hiking trails, this is a perfect area to explore and be in nature – playing in the snow or soaking in the beauty of the ever-changing seasons of the mountains.
Perhaps an obvious choice for your Rocky Mountain vacation, but it is so amazing that it always warrants mentioning: Rocky Mountain National Park. Located just 37 miles north of Winter Park, pack a picnic and enjoy a day trip to one of America’s most visited national gems… Bonus points for anyone who finds a side road that leads to a waterfall hike.
Is it just us, or does the mention of majestic mountains conjure up an image of roaring waterfalls and steaming hot springs? Lucky for everyone, the nearby attraction of Hot Sulphur Springs takes the guesswork out of finding those healing waters and makes it accessible for all of us. With 23 pools of water, all a different temperature, people of all ages can enjoy the soothing waters from the babbling brooks of the Rocky Mountains. Conveniently located just 30 miles north of Winter Park at 5609 Spring Rd, Hot Sulphur Springs, CO, a refreshing soak is just a short car ride away from our house rentals in Colorado mountains.
