4th of July Winter Park

4th of July in Winter Park 2019

You can’t not love July 4th. Sorry, you just can’t. You get to spend the day with your friends and family eating delicious food fresh off the grill, and then cap it all off by watching fireworks! No matter who you are, that’s awesome. But here in Winter Park, Colorado, we’re elevating the Independence Day 2019 game to a whole new level.

Lance Gutersohn’s

This is the “big one.” Totally free and fun for the whole family, head on over to downtown Winter Park at the Rendezvous Event Center for Lance Gutersohn’s 4th of July Winter Park Celebration. The tots can get their faces painted red, white, and blue and play carnival games from 6 to 9pm, while everyone boogies down to Judd Hoos, the rock band performing from 7-10pm. Then, kick back and look up to the jumbotron right at 10pm – nope, it’s not a kiss cam, it’s fireworks time! You’ll see the amazing display in all its glory up on the big screen. Kids of all ages will have a blast here.

Flying Heels Rodeo

Granby is home to the rodeo and spending the Fourth there is even more fun than usual. Nosh on some barbecue and other concessions available and settle in for a long day of contests and good old-fashioned horse roping! Even the juniors can take part in the peewee events, such as goat un-decorating for kids 5 years and younger, team roping for ages 14-18, and events for all the ages in between. Then at the end of the night, weather permitting, you’ll be able to watch the fireworks display. This is a totally rustic, back to basics way to celebrate the birth of our country.

Grand Lake Fireworks

The Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce supports one of the most amazing fireworks displays in the country. These can be seen across the entire area, right above Grand Lake. They will begin between 9:30 and 10pm, depending on how long it takes for the sky to be completely dark, so make sure you’re somewhere you can watch them, like Lake Park or Lake Ave, or one of many businesses whose patio looks out towards it. If you choose to wait out traffic after the show, head down to the free party hosted by Mountain Lakes Properties to get down.
